The Test

I have always wondered which sports joint was the best place to catch a big game along with some good wings, so my friend Matt and I decided to compare Buffalo Wild Wings and Hooters, two well-known sports places. We decided to judge their restaurants based on their T.V. availability, wings, service, price and menu. Matt also chose to let the cute waitresses at Hooters influence his decision, which may not be bad idea because some guys go there specifically for the waitresses.

Hooters

Our journey began on a Wednesday night at Hooters. It wasn’t very busy that night (maybe because there were no big games on) but that just made the service much faster. With that being said, the service at Hooters was amazing. We got our food almost immediately after we ordered and it was pretty good.  We split ten chipotle barbeque boneless wings and ten hot boneless wings that were just alright. Although the wings weren't the greatest, both of our orders came with amazing curly fries and ranch, for the wings, all for about $20. But maybe wings just aren't for you. Hooters has a pretty large Menu that has a good variety of entrees and appetizers.



One thing that I really like about Hooters though, was the amount of T.V.’s they had set up. There were screens posted all around the restaurant, so, no matter where you sat, you were able to see a flat screen. All in all, Hooters is a pretty good place to go and catch a game, if you don’t plan on ordering wings.

       Buffalo Wild Wings

Thursday night we decided to take advantage of the deal Buffalo Wild Wings offers of 50 cents boneless wings. Matt and I got there and it was packed. We were worried that there would be a long wait, but luckily we were able to get a table for two in only a couple of minutes. After we were seated we met our waitress and we were able to order right away. At Buffalo Wild Wings we orders 12 hot wings and 12 of their honey BBQ wings to compare them to hooters, even though everything on their large Menu tempted us. Although we thought their wings were much better, the orders didn't come with fries and we were charged a small amount for the ranch. The total price of our order though was only around $14 because of the deal on Thursday.

  

Buffalo Wild wings, like hooters, had plenty of televisions set up around the restaurant, so there was no missing out on any big games. The service there was also pretty good considering how busy it was. It took around ten minutes to get our food and our waitress regularly checked in to make sure we were doing all right on drinks.

Of course it will never be this empty while open.

The Variety

Buffalo Wild Wings also has a very large variety of sauces. They have sauces for someone that is ready to endure some heat or someone that just feels like something sweet. Their sauces include Sweet BBQ, Teriyaki, Mild, Parmesan Garlic, Medium, Honey BBQ, Spicy Garlic, Jammin Jalapeño, Asian Zing, Caribbean Jerk, Thai Curry, Hot BBQ, Hot, Mango Habanero, Wild, and their famous Blazin. Their Blazin wings were made famous because of the Blazin Challenge. They challenge people to eat 12 of their Blazin Wings in a certain amount of time and if they succeed they get their wings paid for and a picture on the Blazin Challenge wall.

Hooters on the other hand doesn't offer quite as many sauces as Buffalo Wild Wings, but they do have plenty to choose from. Their sauces include Mild, Medium, Hot, 3 mile island, 911, Samurai, Parmesan Garlic, BBQ, Daytona Beach, Cajun, Spicy Garlic, Chipotle Honey, and Habanero BBQ. Hooters offers a hot wing challenge similar to Buffalo wild Wings, but I will not be trying either to compare because that is just to much heat. 

The Final Decision

So, after taking all of the factors into consideration I would prefer Buffalo Wild Wings over Hooters due to their better tasting wings, the great deal they offer every Thursday and there menu which is slightly larger than Hooters. If it were any other day of the week though, it would really just be what you are feeling like that day. Hooters wings may not be as good, but they make up for it with their curly fries that come with every order and, of course, their waitresses.
